Pennsylvania Act 235 Security Agent Training

Act 235 training is required security training for any qualified individual who carries a firearm or police style baton as a condition of employment. Common examples of 235 employment include uniformed and non-uniformed private security, armored car companies, body guards, and private investigators.

• The 235 course content includes instruction in legal aspects of security work, handcuffing, proper baton (nightstick) use, and proper use of handgun and shotgun
• Initial full certification course with firearms - 40 hours, $375 which includes use of a DVSC firearm, ammunition and all other training materials
• Initial full certification course without firearms - 26 hours, $195 which includes all necessary training materials
• Firearm only course (when upgrading from non-firearms certification) - 14 hours, $175 which includes use of a DVSC firearm, ammunition and all other training materials
• An optional 2 hour patrol rifle course is also available through the Act 235 class. The optional patrol rifle class is $75
• To enroll in the full certification Act 235 course the student must have the proper eligibility letter issued by the Pennsylvanian State Police. The letter is issued after the applicant completes and passes the background application, the medical exam, and psychological exam.
• Re-certification course with firearms- 8 hours, $150 which includes use of a DVSC firearm, ammunition and all other training materials. To enroll in the re- certification Act 235 course the student must have the proper eligibility letter issued by the Pennsylvanian State Police. The letter is issued after the applicant completes renewal application process.
• As part of our commitment to training, we offer our students a discounted shooting range membership to Delaware Valley Sports Center. To be eligible for the discounted range membership the student must successfully complete either the full certification or re-certification Act 235 course at Delaware Valley Security Center.

The United States Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) and Pennsylvania's Retired Law Enforcement Identification Act (RLEIA)

  • Under the federal LEOSA, commonly referred to as HR218, qualified retired law enforcement officers (LEOs) may carry a concealed firearm anywhere in the United States.
  • To legally carry a firearm under LEOSA and RLEIA the retired LEO must meet the retirement criteria outlined by law, have a retired ID issued by their former department and possess a qualification card showing that he/she has completed a firearm qualification course.
  • DVSC offers the training and qualification required under both LEOSA and RLEIA. This training consists of preparation of administrative paperwork, presentation of rules governing LEOSA and RLEIA, use of force legal issues and shooting the required qualification course.
  • To accommodate the various schedules of our trainees, the HR218 course can be done individually or in a small class.
  • The LEOSA training is $40 plus ammunition and range fee.

ASP Expandable Baton Training

Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP) expandable baton training is offered to people working in the security/law enforcement field. The ASP expandable baton provides security and law enforcement officers a functional, innovative and versatile defensive weapon which meets the ASP motto of "Protecting Those Who Protect"

The ASP course is an 8 hour session that provides the student with a comprehensive background on use of force as well as practical hands on drills which reinforce proper use of the baton.
All ASP courses offered by DVSC are sanctioned and approved by ASP Corporation.
DVSC's ASP instructors are active duty law enforcement officers with years of practical real life experience. Additionally, all instructors are fully certified by ASP Corporation.
The cost for the ASP course is $99 which includes practice batons for use during training, training manual, mouth guard, certificate of completion and certification card
A minimum of 6 students is required to hold the ASP class
ASP Class- Open to security or law enforcement personnel

 

CLASS DISCOUNTED IF TAKEN WITH THE OC CLASS

 

We will be conducting expandable baton (ASP) and pepper spray (OC) training on the following days: Monday March 8, 8:00 am start cost for both courses $149 Saturday March 13, 8:00 am start

OC Pepper Spray Training

PRICE REDUCED

Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) or pepper spray training is offered to people working in the security/law enforcement field. The OC spray provides security and law enforcement officers another tool to quickly de-escalate violent situations with a product that is designed to gain compliance while reducing the risk of injury to the suspect. OC is a less than lethal weapon with a proven history of effectiveness in the law enforcement profession.

The OC course is a 4 hour session that provides the student with a background on the development of OC, how OC fits into the use of force continuum, and hands on drills which reinforce proper use of the OC spray.
All OC courses offered by DVSC are approved by Personal Protection Consultants, Inc., the trainers which certify the DVSC OC instructors.
DVSC's OC instructors are active duty law enforcement officers who can attest to the benefits of being armed with OC.
The cost for the OC course is $75 which includes training manual, non-functioning practice OC canisters to use during training and certification card.
A minimum of 6 students are required to hold the OC class
ASP Class- Open to security or law enforcement personnel
